Description

This course introduces the significant components of critical thinking and evidence-based practice necessary for use by maternal-newborn nurses in their every day practice. It includes an in-depth study of the physiological and psychological aspects of maternal-newborn nursing while preparing the student for holistic approach to care. A review of normal antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and neonatal nursing is included; the primary focus is on the development of nursing goals and interventions for care of the high risk mother and infant through the various stages of the childbearing process.
